DONALD TRUMP? Have you read the U.S. Constitution-lately? What a question to be asked.

This was probably one of my favorite speeches in the entire DNC week!  I careless of your political loyalty, but you can’t take away how powerful this speech was to all of us.  If you haven’t listened to it I highly suggest you do.

Khizr Khan is the father of Captain Humayun Khan, a US Army soldier who died at age 27, near Baghdad, while supporting Operation Iraqi freedom. Khan says he is a devoted, patriotic American, and a Muslim. Tonight (July 28), he and his wife took the stage of the Democratic National Convention, where he delivered a…

MARKY MARK & the FUNKY BUNCH

“GOOD VIBRATIONS”

I can’t tell you how many times this song was played in our basement in my parent’s house while growing up.  This was one of a few or handful of songs that I remember being played all the time and loud throughout the house.  I don’t know how my mother felt about my dad playing music that loud all the time, but it was a good thing sometimes to know that he was off in his own world.  I also remember going to cookouts, black people cookouts, and hearing this song at least once during my duration there.  I don’t think this was one of those songs that you was required to play while at a cookout or at some dance hall, but you might get looked at funny if you never played this during your time as a DJ of MC of the party.

TRUMP: YOU WANT HIM TO REPRESENT OUR RED, WHITE & BLUE?

I already know, and hear it now, “I don’t want to elect that (bleep) in the White House!  She’s crazy and lies!”  Well, if you break it down to be technical about it how can a nominee for the White House be on the side of Russian President Putin?  This is the same Russian President that backs the Syrian government and distaste for the rebels, who are backed by the United States.  You want to elect a person who wants to ban Muslims, which goes against our U.S. Constitution, values and speaks recklessly on this stage?  I guarantee you if Trump-Pence get in the White House we may be repeating and looking like the Germans did in the 1930’s.  Hitler vowed to make Germany great again and vowed to gain the respect that they once lost.  The end result was not great and Germany paid for the destruction of the world with an extreme heavy price.  Too much of his campaign mimics the Hitler rhetoric of hate and banning of the Jews before and after he came into power.  Apparently, Trump has an issue with Mexicans and Muslims and want to reform immigration to his own liking.  I don’t know about you, but I can’t support this style of leadership and campaign, but weary about Clinton’s campaign as well.  Who is the less of the two evils here?  Yeah I think I will wait.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump held a press conference in Florida today (July 27), one day after rival Hillary Clinton clinched the Democratic nomination in Philadelphia. The focus was foreign policy and national security, particularly US funding for NATO, which Trump has pledged to withdraw for countries that do not “pay their fair share,” in…

HILARY CLINTON: BROKE HISTORY & THE GLASS CEILING

At this point and time in history, I don’t care what party you are affiliated with or which candidate you are rooting for the most; the mere fact that we all have now witnessed history and may actually see our first female president is pretty damn awesome.  Like Tupac said in one song “Change” that we aren’t ready to see a black president.  Well, now that we have seen this come to past and true, how many people have stated that they thought a woman president couldn’t or wouldn’t happen?  Barriers are being broken in this political theater, but yet we still have a long way to go before any kind of victory is planted.  I suppose the next best thing for us to see is a black woman nominee for president of the United States, but there is one trend that is bothersome.  The first black or African-American president came from the Democratic Party, and the first woman to be nominated to represent a major party is from the Democratic Party as well.  And, if the trend continues we may possibly see our first African-American woman president from the Democratic Party.  If you are following this trend you have to think to yourself of how does the Republican Party feel about this or how do they respond to such historic waves coming from the other side of the aisle?  Well, I only think time will tell before they can come up with a historic measurement themselves.  I don’t know of any Republican woman that can become what Hilary is becoming or follow in the same footsteps as to become a party nomination for president, but again time will tell.  Sure, the Republican party has had women run for the nomination, but they seem to be out of it before they can even make a dent or a challenge.  All in all we are in a historic moment for our nation and you have to be somewhat excited to know what else is next in the future.

Tuesday night (July 26), Bill Clinton, the husband of presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, took the stage at the Democratic National Convention to honor his wife’s historic achievement. Bill’s stately-but-approachable appearance and middle-of-the-road fashion choices make him a terrific candidate for the supporting role of first spouse of the United States. (He was also the 42nd…

PRODUCTIVITY – FIND YOURS?

I’ve been doing this in my career for years, finding my own productivity methods that work for me.  This isn’t easy when you are working for an agency or organization that tries to make you productive the way they want you to be productive.  Yet, try to say that every person or officer is different in their own way.  I really don’t believe that individualism is promoted in the work place, and I think a lot of managers or bosses are afraid to let employees express this fearing unprofessionalism attire and attitude.  However, since moving from one agency to another I have found out that I can be the kind of employee that works for me, and not always having to bend to others productive schedule.  I think alot of us can do and be much more productive if we are given the time and space to create our own productivity schedule within reason of course.  As long as the job is getting done and being completed as it should be, who cares how it is completed or finished?

The internet is filled with advice and lifehacks on how to improve productivity. We all want to achieve more, it seems, to cram more into our days. There always seems to be that one overachieving colleague who has it all figured out, and uses a complex routine involving butter-filled coffee, short bursts of jumping jacks,…

FACEBOOK FOULS

This is a new category that I am now adding to my WordPress portfolio and will be posted on Fridays known as “Facebook Fridays”.  They may not be posted every Friday, every week, but my wife and I have discovered numerous posts and messages that entail numerous errors.  Of course, we don’t expect every single post to be grammatically correct or us trying to be grammar Nazis, but we figure if you are going to make a point to a conversation it needs to make sense and make your point.  We will not announce the person or persons that post such non-sense or attach a handle to that post, but we want you to understand the ridiculousness that is out here!  If you happen to find any posts out here in the social media world that brings you to laughter or just plain ridiculous of its contents, feel free to share.  Just make sure the people remain anonymous and just give me a summary of what the conversation was about.  The funniest posts we tend to find out here are posts or messages that contain run-on sentences, and those that you can tell the persons thought was moving much quicker than their fingers could keep up with.  It’s all in good fun and want to share our humor with what we see everyday.

TERRORIZING SEA LEVELS – GROWING

Greenland is home to a little more than 50,000 people. And, yet, what happens there affects billions around the world. A third of the recent sea-level rise worldwide can be linked to the melting of the country’s massive ice sheets. Now it looks like Greenland’s algae are making matters even worse. THE CRAB DIARIES: CAR WASH & SHOWER

SHOWER @ CAR WASH

It’s not normal to expect to get a brief shower when you are running your car through the car wash, but that indeed happened.  Just before I get into that story, we should all know when you purchase a used car or truck that there is risk.  Believe it or not some dealerships will still sell you a vehicle that they know for sure will not pass inspection, but once you drive it off the lot all the problems underneath become your problems.  Some used car dealerships will fix your newly purchased vehicle just enough for it to only break down or give you headaches thirty days later.  This appeared to have happened to us while we were living in Frederick County, Maryland.

My wife and I looking to save money or for our money to go much further, we decided to go the used car route.  I had a 2007 Dodge Charger prior to this decision and had to return it back to the dealership two and a half years later due to the car payments being too high.  No one would help me refinance the vehicle and Chrysler was not of help in that endeavor.  Unfortunately, it had to be returned to the dealership, and when you are constantly thinking about either paying your car payment or your rent each month, things need to change ASAP.  So this was part of our decision to get two used vehicles and keep them for as long as we want before changing.

We ended up purchasing two used vehicles, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and a 2000 Ford Explorer, which was our first truck purchase together.  I drove the Grand Prix mostly and it was one of my dream cars, which I sometimes miss.  However, the Ford Explorer gave us headaches time and time again, and at times made us feel like we made a bad investment.  One day suddenly the Explorer didn’t want to start and this happened numerous times to my wife while she would either be at work or out somewhere else.  Often this would take place while I was at work and I couldn’t help her right away, but she would figure it out and get home safely.  I can’t tell you how many times I worried about her taking this truck to work and getting stuck, and sometimes I would take the truck to work, but rarely had issues with it.

One time that we actually had to laugh at was when we took our truck to the car wash.  This particular afternoon I believe we were going to run errands and just enjoy our day together since I was off, which was at times rare.  As we pull into the car wash, we did the normal of putting the gear in neutral and allowing the tracks to push the truck through.  Somewhere along the line, maybe halfway through, we were talking and out of the blue the interior dome light came on followed by a ding.  For this split second we both looked at each other and looked up at the light trying to figure out why did the dome light just come on!  As I am trying to figure this out, the answer to my question would soon be revealed when I hear my wife scream trying to hold the driver side door closed.  When I shifted my attention towards her struggling with the door, the mechanics of the car wash got loud immediately!  Within the few seconds that this happened, I began to feel water splashing inside the truck all over the dashboard, interior parts of the windshield and mostly soaking the driver side from head to toe.

Silly me didn’t realize the door was open and that is why the car wash got really loud all of a sudden.  I saw her struggling with the door to close it while water is splashing in, but I quickly realized I couldn’t help her!  I just sat there trying to dodge these soapy water pellets flying in the truck while she’s screaming.  Finally, she was able to get the door closed and save us from getting a full scale wash down.  This became our running joke for days, weeks and months, and still gives us a laugh till this day.  One of our many adventures together, regardless of how small or insignificant it is.  This moment will go down in our history as one of the funniest moments we have ever encountered.  I believe it was during the summer time so my wife dried off pretty quick, but pride, man, was tainted for a bit!  We finally figured it out somehow by accident that the driver side outside door handle was way too loose.  The water pressure would get up underneath the door handle and pull the door open.  So each time we went to the car wash we would have to grab the door from the inside to keep it from flying open.  I know you are probably thinking why not just lock the door, but our locks didn’t always work and they would sometimes work too well!

However, it was a fun truck to own despite her quirks and headaches once we figured out it was her neutral safety switch that was giving us startup problems.  What happened to our vehicles and why we no longer own them is a whole jacked up story that I am far enough removed from to share.  Stay tuned for that story coming up, which will probably be told under the title “The Adventures of D & T”!  We were embarrassed about this for a while, but a brand new car came out of the deal with that later down the road.  I think my temporary position as a detective was somewhat tainted because of it, but I think I was purposely set up to fail regardless, but that’s for a later topic under the crab diaries.

Do you want to share your funny and/or embarrassment stories about any of your used cars?

SOUTHERN FRANCE ATTACK

Another deadly attack has occurred in the nation of France, which is now their third terror attack in days.  Unfortunately, the attacks we are seeing here in the United States, France and other allied nations is what has been occurring in the Middle East for hundreds of years and is now becoming more prominent in our civilized societies.  This is the kind of terror you can’t just fight with a national or state militia, but you need extreme vigilance and shared intelligence throughout.  Terrorist’s who attack innocent populations and groups of people that can’t properly defend themselves are pussies and cowards!  Attacking people who can’t defend and fight back your insurgence are just more scared of you then you are of them.  People like this can be defeated, but in order for that to happen we can’t be caring about their feelings and completely demolish them, as they have that mentality towards us.

The driver of the truck that plowed through a crowd in Nice last night (July 14), killing at least 84 people and injuring 200 more, has been identified as 31-year-old Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, authorities confirmed today. Prosecutor François Molins told reporters that Bouhlel, a local delivery driver of Tunisian descent and a father of three,…
