THROWBACK THURSDAY (HISTORY SPECIAL)

NATIONAL ORGANIZATION for WOMEN

Founded 50 years ago today…

“Taking action for Women’s equality since 1966”

For a quick and brief summary of the N.O.W. history, it was founded by 28 women who were inspired by the failure of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  The very first president and leader to lead this organization was Betty Frieden, from 1966 until 1970.  The current president of N.O.W. organization is Terry O’Neill.  Below is a short video of her interview with FOX Sports Live in regards to the Ray Rice situation.
