For the past one hundred years, during the twenty-first century, the world has gone through numerous geographical and atmospheric changes. Many experts in the field of science, including prominent meteorologists, have warned the world many times over about ‘Global Warming’ and how our seasons and weather will be affected in the coming future. Thousands, even millions of people, worldwide prepared themselves for what is the unknown, our future on this planet and how life will be in the next century. Well, very soon other world events that occur will consume time, money and energy, both humanistic and natural, to where many cries about the atmospheric changes would go unnoticed and forgotten. Many skirmishes and conflicts would erupt throughout the years, but one particular incident out of a global fight occurred that got everyone’s attention. During the mid-twenty-first century the North and South Koreans were on the verge of re-igniting the stalemate and ghosts of the Korean War. Tensions between the two nations were so thick and so high that everyone stayed glued to the news awaiting for the first shots to be heard. Soon, many would get their wish when the North Korean’s conducted a flight test of their newest ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile), which was supposed to land out in the sea away from any population. However, against all stern warnings from the United Nation’s, United States, South Korea and even North Korea’s ally, China, the missile test was conducted and became the catalyst to the re-ignition of the Korean War.
The missile was halfway through its flight when it began to malfunction, switched flight path and entered the Japanese Air Space. Many witnesses saw this white-yellow streak overhead and frightened most of the Japanese population, who saw Hiroshima and Nagasaki happening all over again. Once the missile’s flight path was known to be heading out into the Pacific Ocean, a United States nuclear submarine was near the area of the flight path and was ordered to destroy the ICBM in mid-flight. As impossible as this task was to complete, the mission was completed when an enormous fireball was seen high in the atmosphere for many miles around. For so many years after that incident, no one ever knew for sure if the missile indeed malfunctioned or that story was made as a cover up for the true intentions of the North Korean government. Whichever side you decided or found yourself joining, many victims of the Korean War – Part II will not be able to voice their opinion on the subject matter or share their story. Another thing that eluded many international investigators was one of many unanswered questions as to what was the missile carrying in its warhead. Hearing the accounts from many survivors and witnesses to the explosion year’s earlier, all expressed the same thing from their vantage point of seeing a blue mist slowly spread through the sky in all directions. Many scientific flights were conducted in the area where the missile was destroyed and in a circumference of 100 miles. No results were found or they became inconclusive.
Korean War – Part II lasted for a gruesome three years before the North Korean government and their shaky stability collapsed due to the strains and stresses of war. During those years of fighting many lives were lost, but the secluded world of North Korea was no longer there and open for the entire world to see. Reconstruction would take years to complete, but that was a small price to pay compared to what this conflict costs in the long run. As the latter half of the century continued, many wanted this twenty-first century to come to an end and start fresh into the twenty-second century. Although many people will not be around to witness the changing of time, several time capsules were buried to only be shared with friends and family left behind. While the latter half of the century does not see any more worldwide conflicts, the weather system has been slowly changing, which once again became noticeable when a snowstorm landed in the Samoa’s. More strange phenomenon began to happen when the state of Arizona reported having temperatures dropping below zero on a consistent basis during the months of September to January. The East Coast began to see and experience more earthquakes, random tornados and enormous size hurricanes that scientist had issues trying to predict. Thunderstorms became more and more violent, which made fire safety a top priority for several people since firestorms would breakout due to extremely intense lightning strikes. The global weather pattern was changing before your eyes and everyone kept hoping that this is just Mother Nature taking its course to readjust. That was naive thinking at its best.
Within the last ten years of the twenty-first century things with the weather really became abrupt and deadly. The storms were so bad that buildings could not be built any taller than thirty stories, which became law in many states. The IWS (International Weather Service) was formed to collaborate all weather models into one system and to discover how to better predict the ever changing atmosphere. This would soon become a task much bigger than anyone anticipated as much more extreme conditions were on the horizon, but this time they wouldn’t see it coming until it was already happening.
